ABC Fitness · Evo SaaS
Workout prescription
Spearheaded the redesign of the "Workout prescription" feature for ABC evo, optimizing daily workflows for trainers across a multi-gym SaaS ecosystem and reducing workout creation time by 35%. This was a core operational tool, deeply tied to retention, engagement, and training quality. My role combined design leadership, product strategy, and stakeholder alignment.

The business problem
The workout prescription feature had become a bottleneck:
- Outdated interaction model
- Limited support for advanced training logic
- High cognitive load for trainers
- Critical gap: no structured data collection
This meant trainers were constrained, members received generic programs, and the business had zero insight into training behavior.
Workout prescription is the heart of a fitness platform. If trainers struggle:
- Adoption drops
- Quality becomes inconsistent
- Data-driven personalization is impossible
This wasn't just a UX issue. It was a scalability and data strategy problem.
Discovery & strategy
We started with a large-scale research initiative:
- 50+ gyms involved
- Qualitative interviews with trainers and managers
- Behavioral analysis of how trainers used the existing tool
- Identification of recurring mental models and workarounds trainers had created
These insights grounded the redesign in real-world usage rather than an idealized flow, surfacing the gap between how the system was built and how trainers actually think about programming workouts.
Design & execution
We redesigned the full user flow, focusing on:
- Clear structure for workout logic
- Better visibility of exercises, sets, and progressions
- Flexible building blocks for advanced workouts
- Reduced friction during daily use
At the same time, we embedded data collection by design, enabling:
- Structured workout metadata
- Future analytics
- Downstream value for gym members
The result was a system that balanced trainer flexibility with platform consistency, turning everyday usage into high-quality data exhaust.

Leadership & collaboration
As a design lead, I:
- Aligned design decisions with product and business stakeholders
- Balanced short-term delivery with the long-term platform vision
- Advocated for research-backed decisions
- Helped teams move from a "feature redesign" mindset to system thinking
Results & impact
After launch, we saw both qualitative and quantitative shifts:
- Piloted in ~20 gyms with strong feedback from trainers
- Increased consistency in workout creation
- Improved efficiency in daily operations
Trainers gained autonomy and flexibility, members received more structured, personalized programs, and the company unlocked training data as a strategic asset.
This project shifted workout prescription from a static tool to a data-enabled experience.
